Santoor
The Santoor is a 100-stringed instrument with origins in the valleys of Kashmir. Introduced to Indian Classical music by Pandit Shivkumar Sharma in 1955, its tonal quality induces deep meditation. When accompanied by Tabla, it creates an energized atmosphere that resonates with listeners.
Unmesh Banerjee
Unmesh Banerjee is a promising Tabla artist from a family steeped in North Indian Classical Music. Trained rigorously by his father, Pandit Sunil Banerjee, and introduced to Carnatic rhythms by Vidwan S. Sekhar, Unmesh has performed since age 6. His experience includes being an artist of AIR, a CCRT Scholarship recipient, and an ICCR empanelled artist. He has played both solo and in accompaniment across India and internationally.
